How is Speech Therapy given?

Each client is placed in a clinic. Clinics are offered on a half-hour interval twice a week, either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. It is possible for a client to be scheduled once a week for an hour.

The goal is to provide one hour of therapy per week. Depending on the needs of the client, determined by an evaluation, therapy sessions are individual or in a group setting.

Clients can be scheduled for individual and group therapy. All placement in therapy is at the discretion and decision of the Clinic Supervisor and Clinic Coordinator.

How many clinics are offered?

Currently the center offers 12 speech therapy clinics and 5 diagnostic clinics.

The 12 speech therapy clinics are comprised of 6 general clinics, plus an Neurology, Aphasia, Fluency, Voice and Social Communication.

The 5 diagnostic clinics are comprised of 2 Advanced and 3 Beginning clinics.

Diagnostics clinics are offered once a day Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 9-11am, and twice on Wednesdays 9-11am & 1-3pm. We see 1 diagnostic client per day. Speech clinics are offered Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday.

How long does a clinic last?

The Diagnostic Clinic is a one day appointment that is two hours long. Speech clinics last the duration of the semester, i.e., 12-13 weeks.

How do I schedule a spot in a clinic?

In order to be scheduled into a Speech clinic, there must be a recent diagnostic/evaluation on file.

We do accept diagnostic/evaluation from other facilities, however, there is a review process to ensure the diagnostic/evaluation can be accepted.
