Dr. Helen Heinrich Appointed Associate Vice President for Academic Technology

CSUN Information Technology is very pleased to announce that, following a hiring search, Dr. Helen Heinrich has been appointed Associate Vice President for Academic Technology. Leveraging her institutional knowledge, technical expertise, and a collaborative leadership style, Helen has served CSUN's Division of Information Technology since 2013 as Director of Data & Analytics and over the last two years as Interim Associate Vice President (AVP) for Academic Technology.

As Interim AVP for Academic Technology since November 2020, Helen has demonstrated exceptional leadership and an unwavering commitment to equity, justice, and inclusion. In addition to her instrumental role in furthering technology services, universal design and accessibility enhancements, training, and support through the campus' pivot to remote and hybrid teaching and learning, Helen has been a champion of equitable educational opportunities through the initiation of programming to expand digital equity and student and faculty access to technology services, support, and resources. She has worked collaboratively with partners across CSUN to utilize technology to fully support teaching and learning, guided the use of technology as a vehicle to promote inclusion, and has catalyzed the opportunities presented through emerging technologies to enable teaching, learning, and working.

Helen earned her Master of Library and Information Science from UCLA and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from CSUN's very own Michael D. Eisner College of Education.
