Technology Procurement Committee

Overview

The Technology Procurement Committee (TPC) advises the Executive Technology Steering Committee (ETSC) and provides strategic oversight for campus-wide technology procurement practices. The committee ensures that procurement processes are aligned with accessibility standards, information security requirements, and institutional goals for cost efficiency, collaboration, and innovation.

TPC meets monthly during the academic year and as needed during the summer.

Responsibilities

  • Accessibility and Information Security Oversight: Ensure that all technology procurements—hardware, software, and services—comply with accessibility standards and information security requirements. Review and recommend related policies, standards, and best practices. Provide guidance on annual accessibility reporting and ensure security considerations are addressed in new contracts.
  • Procurement Strategy and Cost Optimization: Recommend procurement strategies that promote consistency, transparency, and alignment with CSU and CSUN policies. Conduct spend analyses to identify trends, duplication, and opportunities for cost avoidance through shared licensing, collaborative purchasing, and resource pooling.
  • Collaboration and Progress Reporting: Identify and promote interdepartmental collaboration to maximize the value of technology investments. Track and report annually on progress toward procurement efficiency, accessibility compliance, and cost optimization goals.
