Introducing Duo's Universal Prompt: Effective March 26th

When you log into an application protected with Duo using a web browser or certain client applications, you will see a different Duo prompt after entering your CSUN login information. With the new DUO user interface, you'll notice that the Duo login options look different from how they did in the traditional prompt, but the Universal Prompt still supports the same Duo login options so you can choose the option that works best for you.

Another difference you may notice between the Universal Prompt and the traditional prompt is that the traditional prompt loads on a web page that's part of your organization's application, while with the Universal Prompt your browser redirects to a page hosted by Duo for you to verify your login attempt, and then redirects back to the application.

Using the New Universal Prompt

  1. Login to any CSUN application.
  2. When you receive the CSUN login screen, enter your CSUN credentials as you normally would.
  3. When you see the DUO prompt you can approve the option displayed or else you can select a different option
  4. The "Remember Me" checkbox has been replaced by "Trust this browser?" If you do not want to be prompted by DUO on this machine for 12 hours, select "Yes, trust browser" and Duo will remember you.
