Duo Auto Enrollment

If you do not have a phone number associated with your account, you will be guided through the following Duo enrollment process when you log into to any CSUN service that requires Duo. 

Please be sure to select the appropriate setup option: Mobile Device, Landline, or Tablet

Mobile Device / Cell Phone Setup

1. Select the Start setup button.

2. Select the appropriate method you would like to configure for multi-factor authentication. In this example, we are using a mobile device. After making your selection, select the Continue button.

3. Enter your phone number to begin the activation process, and then select Continue

4. Verify the type of device, and then select the Continue button.

5. Install the DUO Mobile app on your device, and then confirm that you have it installed.

6. Follow the steps in the app to scan the QR code presented on the screen, and then select Continue

Note: Alternatively, you can select ‘Email me an activation link instead’. You will need to open that link on the mobile device you have chosen. If you are on the mobile device you would like to activate, you will instead see the following screen:

Finish by connecting to Duo mobile.

7. Once the app has been activated, you can select Continue to Login to sign into the desired application.

Select Continue to Login.

8. If you have a phone number entered into DUO already, you will see the following screen:

Choose an authentication method.

Note: If you would like to activate the DUO app, select Add a new device from the left side menu. After verifying your identity, you will go through the same process as steps above.

Landline

1. Select the Start setup button.

2. Select the appropriate method you would like to configure for multi-factor authentication. In this example, we are using the Landline option. After making your selection, select the Continue button.

3. Enter your phone number to begin the activation process, and then select Continue

4. Verify the type of device, and then select the Continue button. 

Tablet

1. Select the Start setup button.

2. Select the appropriate method you would like to configure for multi-factor authentication. In this example, we are using a Tablet. After making your selection, select the Continue button.

3. Enter your phone number to begin the activation process, and then select Continue

4. Verify the type of device, and then select the Continue button.

5. Install the DUO Mobile app on your device, and then confirm that you have it installed.

6. Follow the steps in the app to scan the QR code presented on the screen, and then select Continue
