The Departments of Central American Studies, Religious Studies, and Sociology are hosting Fr. Ismael Moreno Coto to speak as part of the College of Humanities (CoH) Distinguished Visiting Speaker Program. Padre "Melo" is one of Honduras' most recognized defenders of human rights and free expression.
Father Melo is also the director of Radio Progreso, a Honduran radio station that serves as an outlet to human rights activists, trade unionists, and farmers. In addition to directing Radio Pregreso, he also heads ERIC (Equipo de ReflexiOn, Investigacion y Comunicacion), a center for social action and analysis.
The event will take place in the Lakeview Terrace Room on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 2-3:15PM.
