Professor Kligman will discuss and demonstrate the diversity of Jewish music from Eastern European Klezmer to the music of the Jews of Syria.  His presentation will show how Jews have adapted the music of their host cultures and created their own unique sounds.  He will also highlight the special role that music plays in helping to preserve Jewish culture.
