Creation - Day Two: Through the Lens of Art, Midrash, and Mysticism
The biblical book of Genesis teaches that on the second day of creation, God separated the waters above the firmament from the waters below the firmament. Post-biblical sages and medieval mystics explained what this separation says about humankind (which was created on day six). Artist-scholar Revital Goldreich will discuss interpretations through the ages in word and image.
