Presented by Tobin Belzer
Dr. Tobin Belzer will discuss how independent minyanim (prayer groups) and feminism have affected American Judaism over the past 40-50 years. In particular, she addresses the manner in which their critiques of Jewish practices have been adopted by Jewish mainstream institutions.
Tobin Belzer, Ph.D., is a Visiting Scholar at the Taube Center for Jewish Studies, Stanford University; and a Research Associate, Center for Religion and Civic Culture, University of Southern California.
