College of Humanities and MCLL are excited to announce that Katherine Silver will be joining us to discuss her work as a translator of Latin American literature, interpreter, and author on November 12th. Silver’s celebrated translations of Latin American authors have won multiple awards. Her most recent and forthcoming publications include works by María Sonia Cristoff, Daniel Sada, César Aira, Julio Cortázar, Juan Carlos Onetti, and Julio Ramón Ribeyro. She is the former director of the Banff International Literary Translation Centre (BILTC), and the author of Echo Under Story. She also does volunteer interpreting for asylum seekers.
