The Marvel Universe across Media: A conversation with Jeph Loeb

Thursday, September 24, 2015 - 6:30pm

Location:
Plaza de Sol Performance Hall
Cost:
Free
Comics@CSUN is pleased to contribute to and promote this special event with Jeph Loeb, longtime comic book writer, screenwriter, TV executive producer, and the Head of Marvel Entertainment. Loeb will join in conversation with CTVA Chair Jon Stahl and English Professor Charles Hatfield (head of Comics@CSUN).

Chief of Marvel’s TV division, Loeb is an Emmy Award-nominated writer and producer whose television credits include Smallville, Lost, and Heroes. From his work as a screenwriter in the 1980s (Teen Wolf, Commando), to his comic book scripting from the early 1990s on (for such properties as Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Cable), to his current work as the mastermind of Marvel TV, Loeb knows the intersection of comics, TV, movies, and popular culture as no one else does. He is now an executive producer on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter for ABC, as well as Marvel’s Daredevil and Jessica Jones for Netflix, and he oversees Marvel’s line of animated TV series as well. In addition, he is supervising the development of many new Marvel TV series.

Mr. Loeb’s appearance kicks off this year’s Commerce of Creativity Distinguished Speakers Series. Expect a far-ranging conversation about the Marvel Universe and its spread into TV and other media!

Seating is limited, and RSVP is required. RSVP at C2 Marvel-Loeb.
