The Central American Studies Lecture Series Presents:  Open Heart (Corazón abierto)

flyer for event on 11/02/17

Honduran filmmaker Sani Kafati died in 1996 leaving the first fiction feature film made in Honduras, No hay tierra sin dueño (There Is No Land Without Owner), unfinished.  His son Ramsés, and Chilean editor Carmen Brito finished the film.  Open Heart (Corazón abierto) reconstructs the years that Kafati dedicated to making this film, and its completion after his death, which made possible its presentation at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003.

Followed by a Q&A with the director, Katia Lara.
