Dr. Ricardo Roque Baldovinos, chair of the Philosophy Department at Universidad Centroamericana "José Simeón Cañas" in El Salvador.  Ph.D in Comparative Literature from the University of Minnesota.  He has been visiting scholar at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, the University of California, Davis, the University of Richmond, the University of El Salvador, the Universidad Rafael Landivar in Guatemala, the Universidad de Costa Rica, and the Universidad de Chile.  Author of numerous academic articles and of the following books: Arte y parte (Sal Salvador, 2001), Niños de un planeta extraño (San Salvador, 2012), and El cielo de lo ideal: literatura y modernización en El Salvador, 1860-1920 (San Salvador 2016).
