Before providing support, funders and partners want to assess the impact you’ve had or are expecting to make with your project. After funding your project, they want to be shown their investment was worthwhile. In this session, participants will learn how to create a logic model and design a robust evaluation plan. Learn how to assess the data you need and how to collect it. These tools provide another way to align your project design to your funder’s priorities by connecting the details from beginning to end. While not necessary, participants are encouraged to come with a project in mind so we can work through the process together.
Guest Presenter:
Andy Ainsworth, Director, CSUN Center for Assessment, Research & Evaluation
Each session will be introduced and moderated by Alby Luchko, Contracts, Grants & Research Development Officer for CSBS.
The word “Sangha” refers to the community of people that surround and support you in your contemplative and spiritual journey. Practicing meditation in a sangha or group not only strengthens individual well-being through enhanced accountability, belonging, and emotional regulation, but also nurtures empathy, compassion, and collective mindfulness that extends to the broader community. These benefits make community meditation settings such a powerful tool for both personal growth and social connectedness. Join the Sangha at CSUN on Thursdays in the FacDev Commons room, Garden Level, University Library, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Network, Innovate and Collaborate
Wildfires continue to shape the landscapes and communities of Southern California. This interactive gathering will bring together wildfire leaders, agencies, community partners, and grassroots advocates to share their success stories and challenges for establishing wildfire resilience. We are seeking the best practices of our participants to share with others and to build community.
Purpose:
The event will create a dynamic space to celebrate wildfire resilience success stories, foster cross-sector networking, and explore innovative models for prevention and preparedness. Participants will leave with new connections, practical strategies, and momentum to advance a regional community of practice for wildfire resilience.
Highlights Include:
- Lightning Rounds of Success Stories & Challenges – Hear rapid-fire spotlights from Firewise leaders, fire agencies, nonprofits, and community partners.
- Interactive Breakouts: “Shared Risk, Shared Solutions” – Small groups dive into mutual threat zones, Firewise expansion, and trust-building strategies.
- Networking Games & Commitment Wall – Build relationships and share personal commitments to resilience.
- Co-Creating a Regional Wildfire Model – Collaboratively draft guiding pillars to shape Ventura County’s wildfire-smart future.
Special Guests:
- Dean Yan Searcy, Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at CSUN
- Joseph Morelli, Fire Marshal, Fire Prevention Bureau, Ventura County Fire Department
Together, we will surface successes, identify shared challenges, and build the foundations of a stronger, more connected wildfire resilience network.
