Activate Your CSUN MataCard
*All residents must activate and add the MataCard to the Apple or Google wallet on your mobile device before moving-in to Student Housing. Not having a MataCard can delay access to your living space. Please note, MataCard can take up to 7 days to activate.
Your CSUN MataCard will serve as a digital key that will let you access to the Student Housing facilities, including:
- Your assigned building
- Your living space
- Pool areas
- Community Center
- Learning Centers
- After hours gates
How to add your MataCard to your mobile device
New CSUN Students
- If you're a new CSUN student, log in to the CSUN Portal with your CSUN user ID and password. Under Top Tools, select Student Center.
- On the Student Center page, under Finances, select Pay Photo Processing Fee to pay the $5 fee.
- Check your CSUN email account for an invitation to upload a photo and another form of identification. The email should arrive within two business days.
- Once your photo is approved, you'll receive an email prompting you to download the Transact eAccounts app and authenticate your digital MataCard.
Current Students
If you have a physical CSUN ID card and are considered an active student, you already have a photo on file and you're ready to go. If you'd like to upgrade to the MataCard, download the Transact eAccounts app in the App Store or Google Play and log in using your CSUN user ID and password to authenticate your MataCard.
