Student Housing Move-in Information for Lighthouse NCOD Students for Sunday, August 21 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m

Hello Matadors!

Fall semester is almost here – and it’s time to start preparing for move-in! Below you will find important information about your move-in day, including COVID-19 testing requirements, your move-in time, room assignment and parking.

We understand that this is an exciting time for you and your family, who may plan to join you during move-in. We think it’s great but ask that you keep your guests to no more than three.

Please read the information carefully, we included everything you need to know to ensure that your move-in day goes smoothly.

Important things to do before move-in day

COVID-19 Testing

Prior to being able to move in, all students will need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result. 

  • The test must be taken within three days of your move-in date.
  • Either a PCR or an at-home antigen test will be accepted – If providing an at-home antigen test, please take a picture of your test within the 15-30 minute window of taking the test. Do not bring the used test with you as tests older than 30 minutes may show an inaccurate result. For free or low-cost testing site near you or to order free at-home tests, visit Community-Based Testing Sites for COVID-19.
  • If positive, please remain off-campus and complete the Student Disclosure of Positive COVID-19 Test Results. You will be allowed to move in once you are cleared by the Klotz Student Health Center.

COVID-19 addendum to Student Housing license agreement

All Student Housing residents must sign the 2022-2023 COVID-19 Addendum prior to move-in. Please go into the Student Housing Portal and complete this agreement in the ‘forms’ section of your portal.

2022 move-in guide

Photo ID: You will need a photo ID to get your room key. Only government issues IDs (state ID, passport) or CSUN ID will be accepted.

Move-in time and location: your move-in date and time is Sunday, August 21 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Check-in and key pick-up will take place in the lobby of Pacific Willow Hall (building 6). The closest parking lot to the building is F9. Students unable to arrive during the check-in hours, can pick up their key the next day at the Student Housing Office (building 22) from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. This early move-in includes our Housewarming event starting on Wednesday, August 24 at 5:00 p.m. through Friday, August 26. The cost is $40 for the week to be posted to your CSUN Portal student account by August 24 and due no later than Friday, September 2, 2022.

Parking: Students part of the NCOD program and moving-in on Sunday will need a parking permit to park at Student Housing parking lots and structures. If you haven’t purchased your resident parking permit, daily parking permit ($8) can be purchased in the F10 and F9 lots, as well as the G9 parking structure.

Student Housing Housewarming Move-in Information for Wednesday, August 24 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m

Students arriving after 1:00 p.m. can pick up their key at the Student Housing Office (building 22) until 5:00 p.m. Students unable to arrive during the business hours, can pick up their key during the Saturday move-in in the lobby of their assigned building. Unloading and parking: Returning residents who are moving-in on Friday will be allowed 15 minutes to unload only in a parking lot near their building. Once unloaded, the vehicle must be moved to the large F10 parking lot across Lassen St. Parking permit is required to park at Student Housing parking lots and structures. Move-in time and location: your move-in time and bed space can be found in the Student Housing Portal. To avoid crowding and delays, please arrive at the time assigned to you. If the time assigned does not work for you, you can request a time change via email. Check-in process will take place in your assigned building.

Unloading and parking: Each car is allowed 15 minutes to unload only in a parking lot near your building. Please review the parking map before arriving at Student Housing.

Large moving bins and dollies will be available for your convenience in parking lots E9, F8, F9 and G9. Once unloaded, someone in your party must move your vehicle to the large F10 parking lot across Lassen Street. Parking at the F10 lot will be free from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on move-in day. Please note, all Student Housing parking lots will require a parking permit after 7 p.m. Parking permits can be purchased in the F10 and F9 lots, as well as the G9 parking structure.

COVID -19 Vaccination Required - August 27th, 2022

Important information regarding vaccination requirements for Student Housing residents for the 2022-23 academic year.  

Effective Friday, July 30, 2021 the CSU policy that individuals on campus be vaccinated has been implemented.  This decision speaks to the CSU’s commitment to the health and safety for all members of its community, including those living on campus at CSUN.   Please read carefully through the following information to ensure you are compliant with the vaccination requirement.  Your compliance is required to live in CSUN Student Housing. 

All CSUN Student Housing Residents will need to be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption prior to move-in. 

This means fully vaccinated students will have received their second (Pfizer and Moderna) or first (Johnson & Johnson) vaccination prior to move-in and at least one booster shot.  

If you are fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine, you will be required to provide verification of your vaccination status by August 19, 2022 at 12:00 noon. Please go into your Student Housing Portal to upload your documents in the vaccination verification section.  Your documents are being uploaded to a secure system with restricted access.  If you don’t have a copy of your vaccination card you can get one on-line through the CA government website at: https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov/ 

If you are unvaccinated and seeking a Medical Exemption, you will need to provide verification from a certified or licensed health care provider, so please gather that verification and upload it into your Student Housing Portal in the vaccination verification section by August 19, 2022 at 12:00 noon.  Your documents are being uploaded to a secure system with restricted access. 

If you are you unvaccinated and seeking a Religious Exemption, please go into your Student Housing Portal to record you plan to seek a religious exemption by August 19, 2022 at 12:00 noon. 

The COVID-19 Addendum Form Link Has Been Fixed

Dear Students,

We are aware of the technical difficulties with the COVID-19 Addendum Form in the Student Housing Portal and we have since fixed the problem. The addendum form is required for all students who intend to live on campus. Please log into the Student Housing Portal and go to Forms, then select the term 2022-2023, then click on COVID-19 Addendum Form link.

If you are under the age of 18, you will need to print the addendum form and have your parent/guardian sign the form. You can bring your signed addendum form with you on your move in day or email us your signed addendum form at housing@csun.edu.

Student Housing Wait List Update

Dear Student Housing Wait list Applicant,

Thank you for submitting the Academic Year 2022 – 2023 Student Housing application. We want to reach out and confirm that you are still on the wait list for housing. We have reached our maximum for available spaces. With that said, the next wait list offer will go out during week 3 starting Monday, September 12. In the meantime, if you need to find alternate housing arrangements before fall classes begin, you may take a look at our off-campus housing database via the link below.
