Change happens when people make their voices heard. One of the ways change manifests is through creating policy briefs that can urge lawmakers to make informed decisions that shape public life. In the context of academia, students, scholars, and faculty can use see their research in action by integrating policy and advocacy into their work.
To address this, the HERE Center is hosting Advocacy in Research: Creating a Policy Brief, a workshop centered on creating policy briefs!
- The importance of research-based policy briefs
- The parameters of an action-based approach to policy advocacy
- How to write an effective policy brief
- And more!
The workshop will be led by Emely Pineda, a HERE Center intern and experienced advocate for healthcare reform. For this workshop, we will be utilizing housing and houselessness data from Los Angeles Family Housing (LAFH).
We hope to see you there! All accommodations requests need to be submitted by April 26, 2022. If you have any questions, please contact Amber Bui (firstname.lastname@example.org).
