Low-Cost/Free Internet Access

The city of Los Angeles has partnered with internet providers to offer low-cost broadband and Wi-Fi offers to schools age (k-12) and/or college student households, healthcare workers, educators and subscribers, living in public and affordable housing.

  • FCC agreement stating that providers will waive late fees, not cutoff service for lack of payment, and open hot-spots.
  • Comcast: follows FCC agreement, offers free Wi-Fi for 2 months to low income families, unlimited data for no additional charge for existing customers, plus all Xfinity hot-spots are free to the public during this time.
  • AT&T: offers open hot-spots, unlimited data to existing customers, and $10/month plans to low-income families.
