Webinar Featuring Paula Umana

Guest Speaker: Paula Umana, Director of Institutional Transformation for the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice out of Temple University.
Join us for a discussion on the #RealCollege Movement, basic needs issues and barriers faced by college students, the impact of basic needs insecurities during the pandemic and potential solutions, particularly on what we as a collective (students, faculty, and our partners) can do to address these issues and support our students!

Screening: Hungry to Learn documentary
Screening of the documentary “Hungry to learn”: A moving 2020 film follows four college students as they struggle with food insecurity and homelessness in their attempt to change their lives for the better and navigate the demands of college life. Homelessness, abandonment and mental health issues loom as students are caught between educational institutions’ demands during “the best time of their lives.” This event includes a facilitated discussion of these issues by professional and basic needs staff.
CSUN Food Pantry

The Return of the Pop-Up Pantry! Please remember to wear a face covering while visiting the pantry.
Location: CSUN Food Pantry, Laurel Hall
Join us for the return of the CSUN Pop- Pantry! In collaboration with the CSUN Food Pantry, the Pop-Up Pantry will distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to our campus community on Wednesday, November 18th during the pantry’s normal hours of operation. Students will receive a grocery bag filled with non-perishable items and fresh fruits and vegetables. This event is open to all CSUN students, staff, and faculty! Come see us at the CSUN Food Pantry located in Laurel Hall (next to Sagebrush Hall on Plummer St.). Social distancing precautions and safety protocols will all be in place.

CalFresh Informational Day
We understand that this can be a challenging process and our CalFresh Advocates are here to help! During this zoom presentation our advocates will provide information on our resources, phone consultations, and will give a tutorial on how to access and use the CalFresh website, as well as, how to schedule an appointment with our trained advocates.
