Dragon Eyes! Castaic Lake Dragon Boat Club Meet Up

Since its creation, the driving force behind Team Dragon Eyes (TDE) has been through the efforts of its volunteers. Every season, veterans and new paddlers alike step up to the challenge of taking on the tasks vital to the growth of TDE and the sport of dragon boating in Castaic Lake Area. From coaching to race organization, administrative to site maintenance nearly every function of TDE is accomplished by volunteers who sacrifice time out of their schedule to contribute to something they truly believe in.

Castaic Lake Dragonboat Club wants to provide education and instruction to the general public on dragon boating. We want to sponsor, promote and facilitate local dragon boat events and races. Our goal is to promote low-cost community sports and exercise and enhance bonding and interaction among different ethnic and cultural groups locally, nationally, and internationally.

Come out and paddle on a 20-person dragon boat. That’s why it is said, you’ll make 20 friends after the paddling session. This sport works on all the core muscles and is a great way to experience the fun sport of Dragon Boat racing on our beautiful Castaic Lake. We initially stretch and then demonstrate the correct paddling stroke before we all paddle in unison on the lake. Bring your head protection, water bottle, sunscreen, water shoes or sandals, and we will provide the rest: personal flotation device and paddle. We accept people of all ages and sizes with a great attitude!

We are an open team actively recruiting. Our regular practice days are Sundays 7:30 am, we welcome new paddlers and those who want to give it a try Sundays at 9:00 am. No previous experience is required and we provide paddles and PFD. We welcome paddlers of all ages!
