HHD is proud of Presidential Scholar Nicholas Lopez (Kinesiology) who worked across disciplines with Natasha Carlson (Biology) to research the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria throughout Los Angeles County. They studied bacteria resistant to carbapenem, a last-resort antibiotic that is commonly used to treat multi-drug-resistant bacterial infections in hospital settings. Read more

CSUN Recreation and Tourism faculty Jose H. Gonzalez presented at the 2019 Association for Challenge Course Technology Conference (ACCT) in February as part of the "Tech Talk Series." In a style based on the TED Talks, Gonzalez talked about how to "connect the dots to move forward" for a career in Recreation and Tourism Management. He presented with Chris Ortiz, Program Director for the Team Development Center at Shaver's Creek and instructor for the RTM Department at Penn State University. Read more
