Athletic Training student wins district research award

Monica Caro, a student in the CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program, was the 1st runner up in the Far West Athletic Trainers' Association annual Free Communications research competition. Her poster titled "Bilateral Comparisons of Joint Energetics during Drop-Jumping" was the culmination of 2 years of research with AT faculty, Dr. Melissa Montgomery and graduate student, Behrang Behjoo (M.S. '14). She competed in the peer-reviewed track against certified athletic trainers, most of whom were doctorally-trained, from California, Nevada, and Hawaii.
