Systolic Blood Pressure (BP) is Associated with Carotid Intima-Media Thickness (CIMT) Independently of Type 2 Diabetes Predisposition in Minority Children

Objective: Our study aims were to investigate whether CVD predictors
including systolic and diastolic BP, HDL cholesterol (HDL c),
LDL cholesterol (LDL c), total cholesterol and triglycerides
tg ) were associated with carotid intima media thickness
(CIMT) and whether these relationships were influenced by
DM Fam Hx or exposure to in utero GDM among children and
adolescents with overweight and obesity.
