The Office of Faculty Affairs is committed to diversifying CSUN’s faculty by offering active recruitment resources and tools for departments and colleges across campus. We are dedicated to strengthening the faculty search process by providing faculty recruiters with additional resources and guidelines in efforts to create an effective search process. We provide instructions and resources to enhance the process of seeking a diverse pool of minority candidates in all academic positions. Below are guidelines and resources with directories, databases, organizations, job boards, and conferences to reach a pool of diverse candidates in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities.
Step by Step Instructions for Active Recruitment:
The faculty search process requires active recruitment methods to reach a wide range of minority candidates in academic institutions and organizations across the nation. There are numerous tools and resources to utilize, which will help facilitate an effective process of locating and recruiting diverse candidates from marginalized groups including but not limited to Latino/as, African-Americans, Asians, Native Americans, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The active recruitment of these communities with various social and cultural backgrounds and lived experiences will create diverse, equitable and inclusive environments in departments across campus, empower members from under-served communities.
