This picture has in the foreground  the grandmother (left) of the writer of this card, along with her two sisters. A sampling of the many cousins of the writer of this card (and the writer of this card) are on the wall above. The context is a family summer picnic at a park in Southern Ohio, and the building is a picnic pavilion for large groups. The youngest of the sisters (in the middle in the foreground) is borrowing part of the material from the dresses of her two sisters to deal with complaints from her sisters as the picture was about to be taken that her dress was too short. Her notion that they had material to spare in their own choice of garments for a summer picnic was also a part of the exchange.
