QPR Suicide Prevention Training for Faculty and Staff

CSUN faculty and staff are invited to join this training.  Come learn insightful data about suicide trends, gain valuable resource information, and find out tips to recognize the signs of suicidal thoughts in others and ways to help prevent suicide.

On November 17 and 18, 2022, the College of Health and Human Development (HHD) is hosting a conference to showcase the diversity of disciplines in the College. This event is open to campus-wide and public attendance. HHD students, staff, and faculty will bring you a variety of presentation formats including workshops, panel discussions, papers, live research spotlights, posters, performances, installations, and exhibits. There will be a keynote speaker, awards for presenters, and cash prizes for students.  All attendees must register.  Keep up to date on conference developments and find out about sponsorship on the conference main page. Both performance events are supported by the Institutionally Related Activities program; this program is integral to the vitality of our dance programming at CSUN. Read more

10th Annual Banned Books Readout: Belonging on the Shelf

In a record year for the number of book bannings across the U.S., we gather to celebrate freedom of expression by reading aloud from books that have been challenged. Join the University Library, the Department of Journalism, the Queer Studies Program and the Pride Center for the 10th Annual Banned Books Readout! CSUN Associate Professor of Journalism and First Amendment Scholar Elizabeth Blakey will speak about censorship and belonging. CSUN students in Professor Blakey's J480 History of American News Media class will give dramatic readings. This year Banned Books Readout will feature a presentation by guest speaker Karimah Tennyson-Marsh, "Banned Books Belong in Our Community." 

Snacks will be available at the Northridge Center entrance from 12:15 p.m.- 12:30 p.m.. The event is free and everyone is welcome. Read more

Explore this unique exhibition for a better understanding of lowrider culture, and the history and spirit of a cultural expression that today crosses regional, national, and international boundaries.
