In the current project, a modular sustainable home is being constructed by CSUN students as part of the OCSD23 competition. The home will be based on net-zero energy concept while incorporating the latest advancements in building science and technology. SWEET (Solar and Wind Energy Engineering Team) has worked on different renewable energy and sustainability-related projects over the years. During 2019 and 2020, the team successfully built a sustainable Tiny House of about 200 sq. ft. on a trailer as part of their senior design class. OCSD23 will provide incoming students with a fantastic opportunity to improve on the previous design and build a 1200 sq. ft. modular home prototype that can be marketed and eventually commercialized.
