Project Description:
In partnership with JPL, senior design students are designing and building an autonomous robot to sanitize clean rooms at JPL used for the assembly and test of flight hardware. JPL is committed to protecting planets explored by landers from contamination by earth organisms. The CleanBot will be used daily to sanitize the cleanroom floors, killing fungi and bacteria tracked in by clean room personnel. Students are needed for sensors, navigation, power and propulsion aspects of the design. The project involves direct interaction with JPL engineers.
