Success Takes GRIT
Engineering and Computer Science coursework is rigorous and that's by design. The skills you're building here will carry you through your career. But challenging coursework doesn't mean you have to navigate it alone.
Research consistently shows that students who seek academic support early and often are more likely to pass their courses, maintain their GPA, and graduate on time. Yet many students wait until they're already struggling to ask for help. Don't wait. The GRIT tutoring services exist so that you can get ahead and stay there.
Whether you're trying to grasp a tough concept, prepare for an upcoming exam, or simply stay on track, our programs are free, student-centered, and built specifically for ACECS students like you.
Every expert was once a student who asked for help.
We offer two tutoring programs to support Engineering and Computer Science students:
Facilitated Academic Workshops (FAWs) | FAWs are free, weekly group study sessions designed for courses with historically high academic difficulty. Led by trained peer facilitators, these workshops give you a structured, collaborative space to work through course material alongside fellow students — not just review notes, but truly understand the content.
Current FAW-supported courses include: CE 240, CE 340, COMP 110, COMP 282, ECE 240, ECE 240N, ECE 350, ME 370, MSE 227, and MSE 304.
Cooperative Learning Participation (CLP) Program | The CLP Program connects students with individual and group tutoring support across more than 200 Engineering and Computer Science course sections each semester. Whether you need one-on-one help or prefer studying with a small group, our tutors are here to support your learning at every stage of the semester.
Engineering & Computer Science is hard. Getting support shouldn't be.
