Welcome Back Message from Dean Tarver Behring

Shari Tarver Behring

Welcome back to the 2021-22 academic year! Our college moves forward this fall with outstanding excellence despite the many challenges of the last year. We continue to have strong student enrollment and programs, exceptional faculty, staff, and students, amazing school and community partners, and a passionate commitment to social justice in all that we do. As we slowly and thoughtfully transition back to campus this fall, our college offices will offer ongoing virtual support as well as part time in-person support. Please watch the following Welcome Video for Students and look for emails that could announce future changes regarding safety as the campus closely monitors health conditions in Los Angeles area. In the meantime, be assured that updated campus safety information to support faculty, staff, and students, including information about requirements for COVID testing and vaccinations, can be found at MATADORS FORWARD. In addition, self-care for faculty, staff, students, and the schools and community we serve remain a top priority while many ongoing stressors confront us. Please watch for weekly information about resources for COVID recovery and well-being posted on our self-care website at https://www.csun.edu/eisner-education/self-care. We look to the future with hope and optimism, and plan to move college operations and most classes to an in-person format in the Spring 2022 semester, as long as safety permits. May you have a safe and successful fall semester knowing that the Michael D. Eisner College of Education is here to support you.
