As we move into the final weeks of this most unprecedented year of virtual instruction, we celebrate all members of our college community for their resiliency, commitment, and outstanding performance. A special congratulations to our credential candidates and graduates who are completing their programs! We are a mighty college and have continued to shine through the clouds of COVID-19.

The future looks hopeful as we see indicators that the pandemic is easing. Even so, our college continues to put the safety of all students, faculty, and staff first and will continue to offer courses in a mostly virtual format through the Fall 2021 semester, with the exception of some supervision courses and a few lecture sections. The fall schedule is now complete, and students can see how their classes will be offered by looking at the online class schedule. Please note that we plan to move the majority of our classes to an in-person format in the Spring 2022 semester, as long as safety permits this.

Distributing supplies to parents and kids in need

On Saturday, October 17 the Family Focus Resource Center (FFRC) in collaboration with programs in the Teaching Learning & Counseling Consortium (TLCC) and the Child Development Institute (CDI) distributed PPE, diapers, Parent Notebooks, and Distance Learning Kits to families living in the San Fernando Valley. Before opening the gates of the CDI, cars lined up on adjacent streets. Once the gates opened a steady stream of over 170 cars passed through the distribution center. Read more

Secondary Education hosts first-ever virtual "Mentoring 401" workshop

The Department of Secondary Education hosted its first-ever virtual "Mentoring 401" workshop for Mentor Teachers on October 8, which was a resounding success. Taking advantage of the online format, the 65 participating Mentor Teachers joined their student teachers in their CSUN seminars, to collaborate on strategies for engaging their middle and high school students in virtual instruction.
