Musical Theater - Virtual Classes

Title: Broadway Bootcamp
DescriptionThis beginning to intermediate level class explores a variety of musical theatre material from classic to contemporary Broadway shows that change each week. With an emphasis on vocal, dance and acting technique, students will learn musical numbers from classic shows like "Annie", "A Chorus Line" and "Sweet Charity" to recent Broadway hits like "Hamilton", "Aladdin", "The Prom", "Wicked" and "Dear Evan Hansen". (Students will need proper dance attire and jazz shoes.)

Title: Stand-Up Comedy: Create Your Own Act
DescriptionIn this fun and exciting class students will learn the fundamentals of stand-up comedy and create a solid five-minute stand-up act to be performed at the end of the course either live or via an online platform. Catered to each participant, topics to be covered will include: developing a "stage persona", how to write effective jokes, the difference between stand-up and storytelling, and how to "work" an audience.
NOTE: Should a live performance not be possible, students will record their performances via an online platform. Performances will be edited into a video reel and shown to family and friends during an online "viewing party".
