SAEP will offer the week-long Culinary Camp for grades 6-9. The program takes place from June 10 to June 14, 2019, the week prior to the official start of SAEP Enrichment and Academic classes. This half-day camp begins each morning at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 12:45 p.m. in the afternoon. You do not need to register for the five-week program in order to participate in the Culinary Camp.
Camp Description: SAEP has partnered with CSUN's Department of Family and Consumer Sciences for an exciting week of Culinary Camp. The Marilyn Magaram Center for Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics will be teaching our students the basics of culinary skills, hands-on cooking, food science, nutrition and providing students with the knowledge necessary to make healthier food and snack choices. Students will work together in groups, in an actual working teaching kitchen, to learn cooking basics and explore the exciting world of culinary arts. Through this fun and engaging program, your student will learn the real life applications of cooking skills that will be necessary throughout their lives.
Cost: The cost of this program is $300.
