Culinary Camp

Dates: July 13–17

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Tuition: $500

Course Description:

SAEP has partnered with CSUN’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences to offer an immersive, one-week Culinary Camp experience. Hosted in the Marilyn Magaram Center for Food Science, Nutrition, and Dietetics, this hands-on program introduces students to foundational culinary techniques, food science principles, and practical nutrition skills in a professional teaching kitchen.

Throughout the week, students will work collaboratively in small groups to develop essential cooking skills—from knife techniques and kitchen safety to meal planning and recipe execution. Campers will explore how ingredients function, how flavors develop, and how thoughtful food choices support lifelong health.

By the end of the week, students will leave with increased confidence in the kitchen, a deeper understanding of nutrition, and practical skills they can apply at home for years to come.
