Course Description:

This calligraphy class introduces students to the art and discipline of beautiful lettering. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, students will learn foundational techniques that build precision, consistency, and control. The course emphasizes proper posture, pen grip, stroke formation, spacing, and alignment as students develop a strong technical base.

Participants will explore basic letterforms and gradually progress to complete words and short compositions. Attention will be given to rhythm, balance, and visual harmony, helping students understand both the structure and artistic expression behind calligraphy.

In addition to technical skill development, students will gain an appreciation for the historical and cultural significance of hand lettering. By the end of the course, students will have created polished sample pieces and developed the confidence to continue practicing calligraphy independently for personal projects, academic use, or creative enrichment.
