Did you know that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have experienced severe physical violence from a partner in their lifetimes? Survivors of Domestic Violence experience not only physical injuries, but also financial hardship, mental health issues, and chronic lifetime health problems. And the current pandemic has exacerbated all of the stressors that can cause violent abuse. Throughout October, we will be raising funds to support our work with survivors of Domestic Violence. In response to racial injustice, civil unrest, and the Black Lives Matter Movement, StrengthUnited in collaboration with The Wellness Institute, and UrbanPromise LA have joined forces to provide a 4-part series via Zoom for the Canoga Park community and surrounding neighborhoods. The national rage expressed about Mr. Floyd’s murder, and the murder of too many others reflects the deep pain over the injustice that People of Color - and in particular Black men - have been subjected to throughout the generations.
