United With Our Community

June 3, 2020

StrengthUnited stands in solidarity with the Black community as they yet again are subject to pain and suffering at the hands of racist and unjust systems. The national rage expressed about Mr. Floyd’s murder, and the murder of too many others, reflects the deep pain over the injustice that People of Color - and in particular Black men - have been subjected to throughout the generations.

We remember their names:

George Floyd. Breonna Taylor. Ahmaud Arbery. Eric Garner. Tamir Rice. Botham Jean. Trayvon Martin. Sandra Bland. Oscar Grant. Philando Castile. Freddie Gray. Walter Scott. Terrence Crutcher. Samuel Dubose. Michael Brown.

The impacts of trauma, both personal and that experienced by an entire community, are real and lasting. We stand together, and we will continue to support each other. Take action: The NAACP has recommendations for engaging nationally and locally. https://naacp.org/campaigns/we-are-done-dying/
