Congratulations to 2017 MDECOE Honored Students: undergraduate student Faith Escher of Deaf Studies, and graduate student Paige Brewer of Special Education.

Deaf Studies

Faith Escher has been selected as the 2017 Michael D. Eisner College of Education Undergraduate Honored Student. She is majoring in Deaf Studies with a concentration in Pre-Deaf Education. While maintaining a 4.0 CSUN GPA, Faith took on several leadership roles with the Deaf Studies Association (DSA), first as a board at large liaison then as a treasurer. Through DSA, she was very involved with planning, promoting and executing events such as the Social Justice conference for the community and the Deaf Studies Retreat for classmates and community members. She also volunteered with Los Angeles Deaf Festival and maintained her employment on campus with both the American Sign Language Lab and the Oviatt Library. Please join us in congratulating Faith on receiving this very special award in recognition of her excellence as a student!

 

 

Paige Brewer 

Special Education

Congratulations to Paige Brewer! She was selected as the 2017 MDECOR Graduate Honorary Student. Paige completed the Clear Credential and MA degree while working full time as a special education teacher at Rosemont Middle School in Glendale, earning an overall GPA of 3.99. In 2015, Paige received the "Teacher Leadership" aware and in 2017, she received the "Masonic Award". She has consistently been selected as the Employee of the Month, and was recently selected as a member of the Superintendent's "Think Tank" team for the Glendale Unified School District.
