SUN Program

Welcome to our College of Education Self-care Initiative, informally called Self-care for U at Northridge, the SUN Program.

It is so wonderful that you are considering self-care as an important way to care for yourself and keep balance and health in your life. Self-care means taking responsibility for yourself to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle at work and in your personal world through individually determined, proactive activities. You are at your best when you attend to yourself in equal measure to others in day-to-day living!

COE Self-Care Activities Week Nine

We are in week NINE of COE self-care and now over 60 faculty and staff have participated at least once. Thanks again for your incredible support! Just a reminder. We will not have a nutrition self-care session this Tuesday, March 31st due to the Cesar Chavez CSUN holiday. Read more

COE Self-Care Activities Week Eight

March 27, 2015


We have some new activities in our self-care sessions this week. On Wednesday, our personal trainers from Kineseology will be showing safe ways to lift things without hurting ourselves! On Thursday, our yoga instructor, Jess, will switch from yoga poses to breathing exercises that help us relax and rejuvinate for the rest of the day. No mat necessary for this activity. So don't worry about getting "sweaty" during either of these classes!  Read more
