COE Self-Care Spring & Summer Activities

May 5, 2015

Dear College of Education Staff and Faculty,

We did it! We completed a full 12 weeks of faculty and staff self-care in our college! Now we are collecting post surveys from everyone who participated to see how this self-care program was received and to determine where to go in the future. We will send out a summary of responses later this semester. In the meantime, here are three topics to leave you with below.

Happy end of the semester everyone!

In appreciation,

Shari

BLUE ZONES

Have you heard of these? Blue Zones are five places in the world where a significant number of people live to the age of 100!

Why? Life style and self-care are major factors! Check it out and take a questionnaire to see how old your projected life expectancy is at https://apps.bluezones.com/en/vitality

SUMMER TOPICS ON THE COE FACULTY AND STAFF SELF-CARE WEBSITE

Check our website throughout the summer to see new postings about self-care topics, like "the sitting sickness," why naps extend your life, ways to improve different aspects of your life through mindful meditation, and more about those great qualities found in Blue Zones and how we can create these right where we live now! Do you have something to share on the topic of self-care? Let me or Carolyn Jeffries know!

SUMMER SELF-CARE RESOURCES

We asked our leaders of the self-care activities to give us resources available over the summer, and have posted them in the Activity Schedule!

In addition, check with the Office of Human Resources for their monthly schedule for Wellness and Self-Care activities at
