COE Self-Care Activities Week 13

November 27, 2017

Dear Staff and Faculty,

We are heading into the final stretch of the semester and there is so much to do. Why not take a break and enjoy a mindfulness meditation session? Research tells us that mindfulness meditation improves physical health, problem solving and attending skills, as well as the ability to be present, communicate, and connect with others. So why not give it a try? Come join us this Tuesday, 2-2:30 pm in the CTL conference room.

And just a reminder, you can practice mindfulness meditation on your own using phone apps such as "insight timer" or online resources such as  https://www.mindful.org/mindfulness-how-to-do-it/  and  http://www.drshaunashapiro.com/meditations/

Wondering what to do with those holiday leftovers? This Tuesday join Vanessa Villavicencio in EDUC 1214 for a 30-minute, noontime meeting to learn tried-and-true strategies for tasty, low-calorie, after-holiday entrees and snacks.

UPCOMING DATE TO SAVE:

Dec. 5th, Tuesday 12-1 in 1214 CSUN Recreation & Tourism Management Department Chair Mechelle Best and beer aficionado Vanessa Villavicencio will give presentations on Holiday Beer and Wine Travel Tasting Tours.

Keep checking our self-care website for information and events.

Wishing you a wonderful rest of the semester.

Warmly,

Shari
