COE Self-Care Activities Fall 2019 - Week 6

September 30, 2019

Dear College of Education Faculty and Staff,

Our college has so many ways for us to come together and share in great activities this week! On Tuesday, October 1st, from 11-1PM in 1214/1216, please come to a presentation on “Interrupting Bias” with facilitator Marcy DeVeaux, Ph.D, Professor of Journalism and Associate Director of Faculty Development. This presentation is designed to give participants the tools to discover their own personal bias that can shape our perceptions about people and groups. Marcy is a wonderful presenter so please plan on attending. Also on Tuesday, come hear 2012 National Teacher of the Year, Rebecca Mieliwocki, from 7-8:30PM at the Northridge Center as she addresses strategies for teacher leadership from her new book at our Education on the Edge Event. On Wednesday, Oct. 2nd, we will hold our All College meeting from 12-2PM in Ed 1214/1216 with time to celebrate the life of Sally Spencer, share our recent accomplishments with the President, and meet our new Provost. On Thursday, October 3rd, we will have our fall student back to school welcome event from 5:30-7PM in the courtyard. Come support our students and enjoy a fun evening.

Please look for weekly emails on upcoming self-care activities, and keep checking the website at http://www.csun.edu/eisner-education/self-care
