Angélica Galván is a new addition to the Counseling Program in the Educational Psychology and Counseling Department at CSUN. She completed her doctorate in Counselor Education at The Pennsylvania State University. Angélica has a background in clinical mental health counseling and working with students with disabilities in the college setting. She also has experience in crisis counseling and substance use counseling in English and Spanish. Read more

Jaclyn Kietzman is the Graduate Student Recruitment Specialist in the Michael D. Eisner College of Education. Jaclyn has served 14 years in higher education. She is from the San Gabriel Valley and is a proud first-generation college graduate. Not only is Jaclyn a homegrown CSUN professional as she received her B.A. in Communication Studies, and M.A. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, she claims to be a Matador for life as her high school mascot was also a Matador. Fatmana Kara Deniz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Special Education. Her research focuses on three main areas: (1) understanding teachers’ perceptions of cognitive autonomy-supportive teaching, (2) investigating evidence-based practices to support the development of cognitive autonomy skills for children/youth with and without disabilities and for whom English is not their first language, and (3) training teachers to use evidence-based practices to enhance student cognitive autonomy skills within the MTSS Framework. Congratulations to Dr. Amy Hanreddy, who was nominated and selected to be the recipient of this year's CalTASH Robert Gaylord-Ross Memorial Award! This award is given to an outstanding scholar involved in conducting and disseminating research and in providing teacher training at the university level in the area of services and support for individuals with severe disabilities.
