Why did you choose CSUN? /What did you study?/What was your experience at CSUN?

I chose CSUN because it a great university that is in my neighborhood and I love my neighborhood and I wanted to make a deeper connection with my neighborhood. I already had a Bachelor’s’ degree and a Teaching Credential with a Master’s in Cross-Cultural Teaching and I needed a Master’s in Educational Leadership to advance my career. CSUN fit all my professional, and emotional needs. I loved returning to a traditional four year university and collaborating with other educators as I completed my course work.

Why do you think that the CSUN’s work is important?

CSUN is a beautiful full service campus, bringing people from diverse backgrounds together for a common cause—and that is to learn and grow by giving back to our society, as role models and leaders for a better future for all citizen. I believe this is our highest responsibility to humankind. We must never give in and settle for, less than, instead, we improve ourselves so that others may be inspired by our stories and carry the touch of love, light, and joy to the world we live in.

Why did you join the Alumni Chapter Board?

After graduating from CSUN, I began to receive information about the Alumni Chapter and any other events at CSUN. I wanted to stay connected with the university, down the street from my house, my university, CSUN. I walked to an invitational board meeting that day and gave my energy and enthusiasm of support to the board meeting and then I made a commitment to keep giving my time to CSUN and became a Board Member, again hoping to build long lasting relationships at my university.

What do you hope to accomplish on the board?

I think I have met my goal and that is to be an active member, supporting and building the chapter by collaborating with others to promote the CSUN community

Would you promote others to join?

Yes I would promote others to join and be a part of a bigger goal and focus—giving back to the community and promoting the “good” that CSUN provides to our Northridge community and the world with current and past scholars. We are a global community that has far-reaching positive outcomes for our world and those around us. We can pass this on from generation to generation, the spirit of giving back and contributing to solutions and not problems.

What else would you like to share?

I have only just begun today, to begin my future with continuing to grow and learn and give to CSUN. The sky is not my limit, to love, and give back to my neighborhood, my school, my CSUN!
