Alumni Supporting Future Educators

October 24, 2022

UPDATE: The Matador Matching Challenge has ended, but you can still make a gift to the College of Education to support future educators. Thank you to everyone who participated in this season of giving!

The CSUN Michael D. Eisner College of Education Alumni Chapter is leading a campaign to support future teachers facing financial obstacles before they even enter a formal CSUN teacher preparation program.

The pathway to a teaching career begins with the application and admission process, which includes costs associated with application fees, basic skills and subject matter exam/s, and fingerprint clearances.  These costs can range from $340 to $700 per candidate.

The Education Alumni Chapter seeks to raise $5,000 to help offset these costs for incoming credential candidates facing financial burden.

As part of the Matador Match Challenge, each dollar raised with be matched - dollar for dollar - to double the impact of each gift, supporting twice the number of students.
