Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential

The Multiple Subject Credential Program is primarily designed for persons who wish to teach elementary school children coming from diverse backgrounds. The Program includes foundational coursework in educational psychology, working with diverse populations, and teaching students with disabilities; a full complement of discipline-based methods courses; field experience, and two semesters of student teaching in elementary schools within the university’s service area.

Reading & Literacy Added Authorization

The Reading and Literacy Added Authorization (RLAA) authorizes the holder to assess student reading and provide reading instruction in response to those assessments. RLAA holders are also authorized to develop, implement, and adapt the reading content curriculum and assist classroom teachers in these areas.

Reading & Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential

This credential is offered only in conjunction with our M.A. in Education: Language and Literacy option. Please see here for more information.

Additional Options & Authorizations: Bilingual/CLAD/CTEL

For those students who hold: (a) a Single Subject Teaching Credential and wish to add a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, contact the Credential Office website; or (b) a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and want to add other authorizations, view the Added Authorizations page.
