The Aftermath of Suicide: A Mother's Grief Memoir with Lessons for Educators

A book talk by Professor Susan Auerbach

Susan will read from and discuss her memoir on losing her son, Noah, to suicide and share info and resources on suicide prevention awareness for educators. (Did you know that the new state law AB2246 requires training in suicide prevention for educators and students in grades 6-12?).

Susan maintains the blog, Walking the Mourner's Path After a Child's Suicide, serves on the advisory boards of the L.A. County Suicide Prevention Network and Survivors After Suicide of Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, and speaks at school suicide prevention trainings with Teen Line. She was the keynote speaker at the 2017 International Suicide Loss Survivor Day in Los Angeles. Her book aims to bring hope and inspiration to fellow suicide survivors while helping others to understand their experience. The book has been endorsed by suicide grief experts such as Dr. John Jordan ("will help you navigate your own painful journey toward peace") and Iris Bolton ("intimate, heart wrenching...a celebration of life").

Books will be available for sale ($17.95 + tax, cash or check preferred) and signing. All royalties go to the Noah Langholz Remembrance Fund for suicide prevention programs.
