Additional Authorizations

All authorizations are dependent upon holding a prerequisite credential. Please refer to the respective link for details.

Autism Spectrum Disorders

The Autism Spectrum Disorders Added Authorization authorizes the holder to conduct assessments, provide instruction, and special education related services to individuals with a primary disability of autism.

Resource Specialist

The Resource Specialist Added Authorization authorizes the holder to conduct educational assessments, provide instruction and special education support services to students across disability areas who are assigned to general education classroom teachers for a majority of a school day whose needs have been identified in an Individualized Education Program (IEP), Individualized Family Service Program (IFSP), and/or Individualized Transition Plan (ITP) developed by the IEP, IFSP, and ITP team from birth through age 22, and classes organized for adults across the continuum of program options available. 

Bilingual Authorization

The Bilingual Added Authorization authorizes the holder to provide services to English learners. This includes instruction for English language development, specially designed content instruction delivered in English, content instruction delivered in the target language and instruction for primary language development in the target language. Please see the admission brochure for a list of the valid prerequisite credentials.

CLAD Certificate through CTEL Coursework

The CLAD Certificate authorizes the holder to provide services to English learners. This includes instruction for English language development and specially designed content instruction delivered in English.
