The Black Signers Club hosted three virtual Black Deaf History month events. This is the first year the club has hosted an international event. They invited two Black Deaf community members, Lydia Gratis and Romeo Belcher, from Ireland to share more about their thoughts on the hidden expectations, challenges and acts of resistance needed to be successful within the Deaf education system in Ireland. The workshop was insightful with rich dialogue, active question and answer session, and a great cross cultural experience for everyone who attended. The club announced a call out to all Black signing students to join the Black ASL performance group. They will be performing the National Black Anthem, Lift Every Voice and Sing, at the CSUN 2022 Black Graduation on May 15th.
