In April, 2023 Strength United announced the beginning of an Executive Director search to identify the next leader of this amazing organization. After an extensive search and a three staged selection process, with significant consideration given to the skills, experiences and expertise needed to successfully guide StrengthUnited in its next phase of growth and focus. SIMPACT has played a vital role in universities and school districts across the country and abroad in training future teachers as well as seasoned professionals in Inclusive Education practices. SIMPACT simulation participants engage in practicing their skills in all areas of education; from an administrator's legal role in an IEP meeting, to productive discussions with parents in identifying student needs, to teachers implementing adaptations and supports in the classroom in order to reach the highest levels of access and equal opportunity for all students. Our simulation participants report significant growth in their confidence and skill level in removing barriers in their classrooms and cultivating an equitable, informed and secure learning environment for all students. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Tina Torres, who will be leaving CSUN to pursue a career opportunity at Sacramento State University. Tina has been appointed Director of the Sacramento State K16 Project to cultivate regional economies, strengthen education-to-career pathways, and ensure that education, vocational, and workforce programs work together to provide broader access to education and employment opportunities.
